Sewer line services cover camera inspection, repair and full replacement. Inspection comes first because roots, a sagging section, a crack and a collapse all produce the same backup at the fixture and all need different work.

How sewer work is decided
Clear enough to see
A camera cannot read a line that is full. Clearing comes first, then inspection, which is why the two are usually one visit.
Run the camera and watch it with you
You should see the footage. Roots, a belly, a crack and a collapse look different and each one means a different invoice.
Locate and mark
The position and depth of the fault decide the cost of reaching it, and in this valley depth matters more than distance.
Present the routes
Spot repair, open cut replacement, or trenchless. They differ in cost, disruption and what they leave behind.
Restore properly
Backfill and compaction done correctly, because a trench that settles later is a repeat visit and a cracked driveway.
Caliche is why local digs cost what they do
Much of the Las Vegas Valley sits on caliche, a hardened calcium carbonate layer in the soil. It is genuinely hard to excavate, and it is the single biggest reason a sewer dig here can cost more than the same job in softer ground elsewhere.
It is also why locating the fault precisely matters so much. Every extra foot of trench through caliche is real money, and an accurate locate is the cheapest part of the whole exercise.
Trenchless is excellent, and it is not universal
Trenchless methods rehabilitate or replace a line with far less excavation, which is attractive when the line runs under a driveway, mature landscaping or a patio.
They need the right conditions. A line that has fully collapsed, has severe misalignment, or has a significant belly may not be a trenchless candidate, and promising it before the camera run is a promise nobody can keep.
We will tell you which one your line is after the inspection, not before.
Roots find joints, not pipe
Tree roots do not drill through sound pipe. They find existing joints and cracks, where moisture escapes, and then expand in place. So a root intrusion is usually telling you about a joint that had already started to fail.
That is why cutting roots is a holding action. It restores flow, and it does not repair the opening that let them in, which is the part the camera is there to assess.

Do I really need a camera inspection?
For a first single fixture blockage, no. For repeated main line backups, it is the only way to avoid paying to clear the same structural fault indefinitely.
Is trenchless always better?
It is better when conditions allow it. A collapsed or badly misaligned line may not be a candidate, and that is determined by the inspection.
Is the line in the street my responsibility?
Responsibility usually changes at the property boundary. We identify where the fault sits relative to that line so you are not paying for somebody else section.
