Faucet repair usually means replacing a cartridge, cleaning or replacing an aerator, or renewing seals. Very hard Las Vegas water at 17 grains per gallon drives most local faucet wear by depositing scale on exactly the parts that have to move and seal.

How a faucet repair runs
Identify the faucet
Cartridges are model specific. Identifying the unit is what decides whether this is a stocked part or an order.
Check the aerator first
If the complaint is flow rather than dripping, the aerator is the cheapest thing to check and it is scaled surprisingly often.
Test the supply stops
An old stop that will not close turns a fifteen minute repair into a house shutdown. Worth knowing before the work starts.
Replace what is worn
Cartridge, seals, seats and springs as the fault requires.
Test hot and cold under pressure
Including checking that the handle closes fully and the drip has actually stopped rather than slowed.
Why valley faucets wear faster
Every time water sits in a faucet, dissolved minerals in 17 grain per gallon water deposit a thin layer of scale. On a cartridge, that scale sits on the sealing surfaces and the moving parts, which is precisely where a faucet has to be smooth to work.
So a cartridge that might last many years in soft water gets gritty and starts passing sooner here. A stiff handle is usually the first warning, and a drip is the same fault a few months later.
The aerator is the cheapest fix in plumbing
If one faucet has weak flow and the rest of the house is fine, the aerator at the tip of the spout is the first suspect. It is a small screen, it catches mineral deposits and debris, and it can usually be unscrewed, soaked and refitted.
It is worth trying before calling anyone. A surprising number of low pressure complaints end there.
When to replace instead
A faucet whose parts are no longer produced, or whose body is worn where the cartridge seats, is a replacement. So is a cheap unit on its second cartridge, where the cost of parts and labour approaches the cost of a better faucet.

Is a dripping tap worth fixing?
Yes. A constant drip wastes a meaningful amount of water over a year, and the fault that causes it does not improve on its own.
Can I replace a cartridge myself?
Many people do. The two things that catch people out are identifying the correct cartridge and discovering that the supply stop will not close.
Why does this keep happening?

Why does my faucet drip after I turn it off?
Almost always a worn cartridge or seal. In Las Vegas, mineral scale from very hard water is the usual reason the cartridge wore out in the first place.
Why is one faucet weak when the rest are fine?
